Maldives signs deal with Türkiye for deadly Ukrainian drones

After ordering the Indian Army to leave, now the Mohammed Muizzoo government of Maldives is busy strengthening its relations with anti-India countries one after the other. After making several agreements with China, the Muizzu government is now signing a deadly drone agreement with Turkey. The Muizzu government has signed an agreement worth $37 million with Turkish company Baykar. Baykar is the company of the son-in-law of Turkish President Erdogan. After assuming office in Maldives, Muizzu first went to Turkey. These Turkish drones have caused havoc in the war from Armenia to Ukraine. India’s neighboring enemy country Pakistan also uses these killer drones.

The Maldivian government says that it is purchasing these military drones to monitor its vast maritime area. According to Maldives media report, Muizzu government has also released money for this drone deal. Earlier, India had given Dornier aircraft and helicopters to Maldives to monitor its coastline. The Indian military technical team used to repair this aircraft. The President of Maldives has asked these Indian soldiers to leave by March 15. It is believed that to fulfill this deficiency, Muizzu has joined hands with Turkey and is purchasing military drones.

Moizzu had spewed venom against India, threatened

After returning from a trip to China, Muizzu had indicated that he was going to buy drones from Turkey. Earlier on January 13, Muizzu had said without naming India that Maldives is not located in the backyard of any country. He said, ‘Even though our islands are small, we are a huge country with an exclusive economic zone of 9 lakh square km. Maldives is among those countries which have the largest share in this Indian Ocean. This sea (India) is not the property of any one country (India).
