Uttarakhand: CM Dhami angry over sub-inspector getting injured by bullet of miscreant, orders to give bulletproof jacket-helmet, listen to what DGP said

The accused husband, who had attacked and injured his wife, had opened fire on the inspector who had come to arrest him in a hotel in Mussoorie. Inspector Mithun Kumar was shot in the stomach in that attack. Mithun Kumar was seriously injured. He is undergoing treatment in the hospital. When this matter came to the notice of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, he got angry.

Chief Minister angry over Inspector getting shot

Uttarakhand DGP Abhinav Kumar said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed displeasure after the recent incident in Mussoorie in which a sub-inspector was shot in the stomach in an encounter with a miscreant who had come from outside. He said that bulletproof jackets and helmets will be provided to the police force. In fact, the police had arrived to catch this criminal without the necessary safety equipment. The miscreant had opened fire on Inspector Mithun Kumar. It is hoped that after this incident the Uttarakhand police department will learn a lesson. In case of further attack on the police, the police will be able to protect themselves with necessary safety equipment and deal with the criminal.

Abhinav Kumar spoke on ACR grading

DGP Abhinav Kumar also told about the ACR grading of Uttarakhand Police. He said that the ACR grading of Uttarakhand Police will now be like that of IPS and PPS officers. A committee has been formed under the chairmanship of ADG Administration. Due to the absence of any SOP, serious complaints like arbitrariness and partiality were continuously being received regarding the ACR of the police force personnel. After which it has been decided to make SOP for grading of police force personnel.
