Fierce fighting near two hospitals of Khan Younis, 50 killed in Israeli bombing

Israeli forces are on the offensive in Gaza after 24 soldiers were killed in two days this week. Fierce fighting continues around two major hospitals in Khan Yunis city. Fifty people have been reported killed and dozens injured in Israel’s latest bombardment in Gaza’s second largest city.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the Israeli attack on the UN office has risen to 12. Israeli tanks opened fire on 800 people taking shelter in this office on Wednesday.

‘Hamas fighters set up base in the hospital’
According to Gaza’s administration, Israeli forces are targeting hospitals, while the Israeli army alleges that Hamas fighters have set up bases in hospitals and are carrying out attacks from there. After establishing control over the largest Gaza City, the Israeli army is now taking action in Khan Yunis.

According to the administration, Israeli forces are facing stiff resistance in the city, a stronghold of Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Israeli army tanks and armored vehicles have surrounded the city. Along with ground attacks, Israeli aircraft are also continuously bombarding the city. There are fires everywhere in the city all the time and their smoke remains in the sky.

According to the administration, Israeli forces are targeting two major hospitals – Nasser and Al-Amal – that are running on limited resources. Health workers, patients and thousands of people who have taken shelter to escape the Israeli attacks are stranded there, while the Israeli Army says that under the cover of these people, Hamas fighters are attacking the soldiers.
