Upheaval in Chandigarh Mayor election; 19 votes were needed to win, alliance had 20, BJP won by getting 16 votes.

There was a big upset in the Chandigarh Mayor elections on Tuesday. For the first time, Congress and AAP came together against BJP for this election. The alliance had twenty councillors.
BJP had the votes of 14 councilors and one MP. BJP got a total of 16 votes in the elections and Manoj Sonkar sat on the post of Mayor. Whereas alliance candidate Kuldeep Tita got 12 out of 20 votes. Eight votes were invalidated.
The matter reached the High Court
After BJP’s victory, Kuldeep Kumar, the joint candidate of Congress and Aam Aadmi Party, immediately appealed to the High Court and said that this election was wrong. His 8 votes were declared invalid and no reason was given for this.
On behalf of Kuldeep Kumar, Senior Advocate Gurminder Singh requested the High Court at 2.15 pm that his petition should be heard immediately and the records of this election should be sealed, this is a direct murder of democracy. But the High Court refused to hear this petition today and has decided to hear this petition on Wednesday morning.
Kejriwal said – Dishonesty happened in broad daylight
Arvind Kejriwal reacted to the Chandigarh Mayor election by tweeting. Kejriwal said that the manner in which dishonesty was done in broad daylight in the Chandigarh Mayor elections is extremely worrying. If these people can stoop so low in a mayor’s election, then they can go to any extent in the country’s elections. This is very worrying.
