ED raid on the houses of Harak Rawat and IFS officers continued till late night, raids may continue
In Uttarakhand, ED raids on the locations of former cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat as well as several IFS officers continued till late night. Since Wednesday morning, the ED team was camping at the houses of the former minister and several officers. All the documents found in these locations were also being scrutinized. During the raid, the most talked about people were former minister Harak Singh Rawat, IFS officer Sushant Patnaik and retired IFS officer Kishan Chand.
ED raids continued till late night
The ED team simultaneously raided many locations of former Cabinet Minister Harak Singh Rawat and his close associates in all the districts of the state including Dehradun and other states. On Wednesday morning at around 7:00 am, the ED team reached different places simultaneously and started the search operation. Raids were conducted at the locations of former cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat from Dehradun to Pauri, Delhi and Chandigarh. On the other hand, along with the luxurious house of IFS officer Sushant Patnaik on Rajpur Road, raids were also conducted on the houses of some other IFS officers.
Had to order duplicate key from Harak’s house
It was told that no cash was recovered during the raid at Harak Singh Rawat’s house. However, an attempt has been made to assess the property on the basis of the documents received by the ED team. Efforts are being made to know the income earned so far in the case. During this period, when there was no key to a cupboard in the house, a duplicate key was made by calling an artisan from outside and the cupboard was opened. It was told that the team has examined many documents found in the cupboard.
Note counting machine brought to Sushant Patnaik’s house
Apart from Harak Singh Rawat, the most discussed topic was IFS officer Sushant Patnaik. This is because the team here is reported to have recovered a large amount of cash. In the presence of ETV Bharat team, the ED team ordered two cash counting machines and the huge amount of cash present in the house was counted. However, no official information has been given by the Enforcement Directorate about how much cash was recovered from the house. But this amount is said to be more than Rs 3 crore.
ED officer stunned to see Sushant Patnaik’s luxurious house
Sushant Patnaik’s luxurious house was also in the news during this period. It was told that this house of Sushant Patnaik is in about 1500 yards. Whereas in the area located on Canal Road where his house is, the market price is said to be between ₹ 50,000 to ₹ 60,000. However, this information is also being collected from the concerned officer by the team of Enforcement Directorate. Apart from this, other documents are also being scrutinized.
And officers also on ED’s radar
There is also news that on the basis of the facts found during the scrutiny of these documents, now some more officers of the department may also come under the radar of ED. During this entire investigation, links related to money laundering are also being searched. During the raid by the Enforcement Directorate team, the phones of many officers also remained switched off. On the other hand, there was a lot of commotion among other officers also.
The ED team was continuing its action till late night. ED ended its action after 11 pm. There is a possibility of ED raid on the houses of Harak and people associated with him on Thursday also. On the other hand, it is being told that after this action, ED may arrest some people in the coming 24 hours.
