Uttarakhand: Congress will make Agneepath scheme an issue in the elections, assured of old recruitment to the youth after coming back to power

Retired Captain Praveen Singh Dabur, former national president of Congress’ ex-servicemen department, is on a visit to the capital today. Meanwhile, he termed the Agneepath scheme as anti-youth and has said that the Agneepath scheme will be canceled after the formation of the Indian coalition government. Also, Praveen Singh Dabur has accused the Modi government of destroying the dreams of about 1.5 lakh youth. Apart from this, he has raised the demand to give back the snatched jobs of about 1.5 lakh youth after the implementation of Agneepath scheme.
Congress will demand justice for the youth
Captain Praveen Singh Dabur said that after going through a rigorous selection process, the government had done recruitment for the army between 2019 and 2022, but the youth were denied recruitment even after all the procedures. He said that most of these youth are agitating in Delhi, but the government is not taking them into the army. In such a situation, the Congress Party has decided that before the March, it will establish contact with about 30 lakh ex-servicemen and seek justice for those youth.
Flaws of Agneepath scheme enumerated
Regarding the Agneepath scheme, Praveen Dabur said that the youth selected in it get less salary than the regular soldiers of the army and the total monthly salary is only about 21 thousand rupees, whereas the regular soldiers get 45 thousand rupees. In such a situation, these youth do not even get the facility of dearness allowance and are not given military service pay. He said that the youth coming under this scheme will not be given martyr status even after being martyred. The youth selected in this cannot avail any kind of medical or other facilities.
Congress decided to protest
Praveen Dabar said that a contact campaign is being run against this from February 1 to February 28, after which demonstrations will be held in every district headquarters from next month. After that, a 50 kilometer Nyaya Yatra will be taken out in every district till the last week of March. He said that the Congress party is going to highlight the shortcomings of this scheme with full force before the Lok Sabha elections, because now the anti-Modi wave has started rising and now Modi is not going to come again for the third time.
