‘Congress’s bank accounts were frozen, Income Tax Department sought recovery of Rs 210 crore’, Ajay Maken’s big allegation
Congress Treasurer Ajay Maken held a press conference today. During this period, he has made many serious allegations against the Central Government and BJP.
Congress Treasurer Ajay Maken says that we received information yesterday that the banks are not honoring the checks we are issuing. Upon further investigation we came to know that the bank accounts of Youth Congress have been frozen. Congress party’s accounts have also been seized.
Maken further said that Income Tax sought recovery of Rs 210 crore from Youth Congress and Congress Party. The crowdfunding money in our accounts has been frozen. When opposition accounts are frozen just 2 weeks before elections, it is equivalent to freezing democracy.
At the same time, Ajay Maken alleged that the Income Tax Department has frozen 4 main bank accounts of Congress on ‘minor grounds’. Besides, a penalty of Rs 210 crore has also been imposed because there was a delay of 45 days in filing the return for 2018-19.
