There will be a coalition government of Nawaz-Bilawal in Pakistan, consensus was reached in the parties of both; Shahbaz PM, Asif Ali Zardari will become President
Nawaz’s party PML-N and Bilawal’s party PPP have agreed to form a government in Pakistan. The terms of the alliance were agreed between the two parties late on Tuesday night.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said- Shahbaz Sharif will be the Prime Minister once again. Asif Ali Zardari will take over as President. Candidates supported by Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party (PTI) and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) could not secure majority in Parliament to form the government at the Centre. PPP and PML-N have got majority to form the government. Now we can form the government.
Elections were held in Pakistan on 8 February. No party got a clear majority (134 seats), hence even after 12 days of the results, no government could be formed in Pakistan.
Khan supported candidates got maximum seats
In the election results, independents supporting Imran had got the maximum of 93 seats. After this, on February 19, the pro-Imran independents decided to join Pakistan’s religious party Sunni Ittihad Council (SIC). This party had won only 1 seat in the elections.
PTI Chairman Gauhar Khan had said on February 19 – There are 70 reserved seats in the Center and 227 in the entire country. These seats are given only to political parties. To save the reserved seats of our rights, we have decided to join SIC.
To form the government, independents supporting PTI were required to be part of some party.
In fact, to stake claim to form the government, Imran’s independents would have had to be part of some party or alliance. This is because before the elections the Election Commission had banned Khan’s party. Khan was also disqualified.
There were talks about alliance since the elections
Talks were going on between PML-N and PPP since February 8 to form a coalition government. Bilawal had set some conditions for forming the government. Nawaz’s party was not able to agree on this. This is the reason why the government has not been formed till now.
Bilawal had said in a rally on January 18 – PML-N had offered me to become Prime Minister for two years. This is not acceptable to me. Whenever I become the Prime Minister, the people of Pakistan will elect me. On this statement of Bilawal, senior leader of Nawaz’s party Ishaq Dar said – Some things between political parties are decided in closed rooms. These should not be told like this in any rally.
Bilawal was the Foreign Minister in the Shahbaz Sharif government till last year. Shahbaz took power after the fall of Imran’s government. A coalition of 13 parties ran the government for 16 months.
PTI will sit in opposition
PTI’s Barrister Ali Saif has said that the party has decided to sit in the opposition in the central government and the Punjab Assembly.
PTI has already made it clear many times that it will not form a coalition government and would prefer to sit in the opposition. Saif said- The decision to sit in the opposition has been taken at the behest of Imran Khan.
