Uttarakhand: Hostel block of Doon Medical College will be constructed as a green building, instructions from CS

Hostel block is to be constructed for the students studying in Government Doon Medical College. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi held a meeting with departmental officials on Tuesday to know the status of its construction works. During the meeting, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi directed the Medical Department and the executing agency Bridge and Roof to construct this project as an energy efficient, green building with rain water harvesting facilities.
Meanwhile, during the meeting, Secretary Health R Rajesh Kumar said that the construction of this hostel block will provide a lot of convenience to the students studying in Doon Medical College. 3.62 acres of land is already available in the college campus for the construction of the building, on which land the hostel block will be constructed. Also said that this project will be completed in the next 24 months. This project is proposed under state funding at a cost of Rs 76.97 crore.
Along with this, during the meeting, CS Radha Raturi also took information about the EFC (Expenditure Finance Committee) of 300 bed Cancer Hospital, Harrawala and 200 bed Mother and Child Health Hospital, Haridwar, which will be operated on PPP mode. Instructions have been given to simultaneously complete the arrangements for all the equipment, treatment facilities and manpower required for cancer treatment at Cancer Hospital Harrawala. Patients will start receiving treatment in this super specialty cancer hospital from the next one year. CS has also instructed the officials to reserve 25 percent beds in the cancer hospital for Ayushman card holders.
