Due to sudden subsidence of the main road near Yaduvansh Clinic located in Vikas Nagar Sector 4 in Lucknow, a crater about 20 feet deep and 20 feet wide was formed. The car rider got trapped after being hit by a pothole. Using his wisdom, the young man came out of the car and informed the Vikasnagar police. On information, Vikasnagar Police, PWD and Jalkal officials reached the spot and closed the road by barricading.

The main road near Yaduvansh Clinic in Sector 4 of Vikasnagar suddenly caved in with a loud noise at 1 pm on Sunday afternoon. Due to the collapse of the road, a crater about 20 feet deep and 20 feet wide was formed. Meanwhile, the car of businessman Shashi Bhushan Nath Mishra, resident of Kursi Road, Atrauli, which was coming from there, got hit by a pothole. Both the rear wheels of the car got stuck in the pit. Showing courage, Shashi came out. Shashi told that when the police control room number was not available, she went to Vikas Nagar police station and sought help. Vikas Nagar police station incharge Vipin Singh reached the spot with the force and closed the road by barricading. After that, a crane was called and the car was taken out. The drivers passing by were scared due to the sudden formation of such a big pothole on the road. It was fortunate that despite there being such a big pit, no vehicle rider fell into the pit. General Manager Water Works Manoj Kumar Arya, who reached the spot on information, said that the sewer line had gone about 13 feet below the road. Gas is produced in sewer lines. Water flows out due to the gas pipe cracking. A pit is formed due to erosion of soil.

The car rider broke the picketing and was stopped by the personnel
Due to a huge pothole in the road, Jalkal workers closed the road by barricading it with rope. Meanwhile, a young man riding a car broke the rope and entered inside. Seeing the car rider going towards the pit, the personnel present there ran and stopped the car rider and sent him back. According to eyewitnesses the young man was drunk.

On Sunday, it rained in the entire state including Lucknow. There are reports of hailstorm in districts like Lucknow, Kanpur, Banda, Saharanpur etc. A drop in temperature was recorded due to rain and winds.
