Yogi government gave Holi gift, know how many women of UP will get free gas cylinder

Yogi government has given the gift of Holi to the women of Uttar Pradesh. UP government is going to provide free gas cylinders to poor women. With this, this festival of colors will become special for poor women and their families. This will directly benefit 1.75 crore people of the state. Earlier, Yogi government had also given the gift of free cylinders to women on Diwali.
Yogi government had decided to give 2 cylinders for free in a year under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. In this sequence, the first cylinder is going to be available on Diwali and now the second cylinder is going to be available on the occasion of Holi. Yogi government has made a budget provision of Rs 2312 crore in the financial year 2023-24 for distributing 2 free cylinder refills to about 1.75 crore beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in the state.
Delivery of 1.31 crore cylinders so far
Under the first phase of the scheme, it was decided to distribute free cylinders to the beneficiaries for the Diwali festival. In this sequence, cylinder refills were delivered to a total of 80.30 lakh beneficiaries from November 1, 2023 to February 15, 2024. In the second phase, it has now been decided to distribute free cylinders to the beneficiaries on the occasion of Holi festival. Under this, cylinder refills have been delivered to about 50.87 lakh beneficiaries from January 01, 2024 till now. Thus, a total of 131.17 lakh (more than 1.31 crore) cylinder refills have been delivered so far under the scheme. While launching the scheme on November 10, 2023, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had simultaneously transferred the subsidy amount to the accounts of lakhs of Ujjwala beneficiaries.
