Uttarakhand: Villagers angry over heli yatra, announced election boycott
In Dharchula, Pithoragarh, seven Gram Sabhas under the banner of Vyas Tribe Sangharsh Samiti protested against the Heli service. The villagers said that they have informed the government and administration about this several times. But the administration has not yet taken cognizance of it. Due to which the villagers have announced election boycott.
Displeasure among villagers regarding heli journey
Villagers say that the heli tours run by the tourism department are causing damage to the environment. Along with this, the employment of regional people is also being affected. The villagers said that despite the memorandums given to the government in the past, the concerned officer from the government administration has not taken cognizance of the matter.
Villagers announced election boycott
The villagers said that in view of the apathy of the administration, this time all the seven gram sabhas of Vyas Valley have decided to completely boycott the Lok Sabha elections. The villagers said that if the administration does not take cognizance of the matter, no person in the village will vote.
