The judge said that the case pertains to an alleged offense committed by a former minister which is of serious nature and prima facie deserves registration of an FIR. Custodial interrogation is necessary to collect information from the petitioner. If granted bail, he is likely to use his influence to evade serious investigation.

According to the information received, in addition to Section 376 (punishment for rape), the Adyar All Women Police has booked the former minister under sections 506 (1) (criminal intimidation), 313 (abortion without consent of women), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt). deliver) and a case has been registered under section 67R.
