Uttarakhand: These borders of Uttarakhand will be sealed from this evening, there will be dry day from tomorrow till 19th April

In view of the voting for the Lok Sabha elections in the state on April 19, the international borders will be sealed from 5 pm on Tuesday. These borders are adjacent to Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat and Pithoragarh districts of the state. Along with this, three days before voting, 12 polling parties will leave for their destination with voting material.

While talking to journalists at the media center located at the Secretariat on Monday, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande said that voting is to be held on April 19 in 1729 polling centers of the state. Voting time will be from 7 am to 5 pm. In view of the voting, action will be taken to seal the international borders. Besides, intensive testing campaign will also be started on the interstate borders. There will be a special vigil on the vehicles coming and going at all check posts.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer said that the process of randomization of polling parties is in progress. There are 12 polling parties that left three days in advance for voting, including 11 from Uttarkashi and one from Pithoragarh district. All these 12 polling parties will depart on Tuesday morning. For this, the process of providing them voting material will be started in the morning.

Dry day from tomorrow till 19th April

Additional Chief Electoral Officer said that in view of voting, there will be a dry day in the state from 5 pm on April 17 to 6 pm on April 19. During this period, all liquor shops and bars etc. will remain completely closed. These can be opened after 6 pm on 19th April.
