Pradeep Tiwari’s wife Poonam Tiwari is also active in politics. She has also been the first woman Municipality President of Srinagar Municipality. Since the formation of the Municipal Corporation, she has been counted among the strong contenders for the post of President in the Municipal Corporation elections. Now that her husband has resigned from all Congress posts, it has created a stir in the Congress.

It is noteworthy that on Monday, Poonam Tiwari had also attended the election rally of Congress candidate Ganesh Godiyal from Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha seat in Srinagar. Speaking to ETV Bharat, former Congress General Secretary Pradeep Tiwari said that he will soon take a major decision keeping in mind the interests and development of Srinagar. He further said that his family and his supporters stand with his decision. He gave this answer when ETV Bharat correspondent asked him a question regarding joining BJP.
