Samples of 11 medicines of 9 pharma companies of Uttarakhand failed, product license suspended

There is abundance of pharma companies in Uttarakhand. Many times the Drugs Control Department also receives information about fake medicines. In such a situation, the Union Health Ministry, Government of India is also running a campaign regarding counterfeit medicines and the quality of medicines. Under which, in the month of March, the Central Drug Standard Control Organization had taken samples of 931 medicines and tested them. Out of which 864 samples were found correct. While 66 samples have failed. One sample has been found misbranded. Out of 66 samples that failed, 11 samples were manufactured in Uttarakhand.

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization has issued an alert after 11 samples of 9 pharma companies based in Uttarakhand failed. Also, Food Preservation and Drug Administration, Uttarakhand has been informed in this regard. Out of the 9 pharma companies whose samples have failed, 2 pharma companies are located in Dehradun and 7 pharma companies are located in Haridwar. After receiving information about the failed samples from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization, Drug Controller Tajbar Singh Jaggi has suspended the product licenses of all these 9 companies. Besides, instructions have been given to these companies to immediately recall the stock of all these 11 medicines from the market.

At the same time, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Drug Controller Tajbar Singh Jaggi said that reports of sample failure of 11 medicines of 9 pharma companies of Uttarakhand have been received from the Central Drug Standard Control Organization. After this, the product licenses of all these 9 pharma companies have been suspended. Besides, instructions have been given to the pharmaceutical companies to recall the stock of medicines of the concerned batch from the market, so that these medicines cannot be sold.

Samples of these medicines failed

  • Samples of SVP Life Sciences’ Diclomine Hydrochloride, Gentamicin and Methylcobalamin Injection have failed.
  • Sample of Co-Trimoxazole syrup of Mancare Laboratories has failed.
  • A sample of Omeprazole Domperidone tablets manufactured in Cavendish Bio Pharma has failed.
  • Samples of Aceclofenac Paracetamol, Serratiopeptidase tablets of Technika Labs and Pharma have failed.
  • A sample of Zeneca Healthcare’s Levosalbutamol Ambroxol Guaifenesin syrup has failed.
    The sample of Lactic Acid Bacillus tablet of mascot health series has failed.
  • A sample of Skymap Pharmaceutical’s Metoprolol tablet has failed.
  • Sample of JB Remedies’ Ofloxacin Ornidazole tablet has failed.
  • The sample of Orchid Biotech’s Lactogerm capsule has failed.
