Uttarakhand: Hospitals and medical colleges will remain open tomorrow on voting day, Health Secretary issued order

Voting will be held on all five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand in the first phase i.e. on April 19. In view of this, all the arrangements have been completed by the Election Commission. Also, polling parties have left for the polling booths. To ensure that all voters exercise their franchise on polling day, April 19 has been declared a public holiday. So that voters and the public can get the benefit of health facilities on the day of voting, it has been decided to open all the government hospitals and medical colleges of the state on the day of voting also. The Health Secretary has issued orders in this regard.
According to the order issued, all medical units will be opened on April 19, the day of general elections. According to the order, like the State Assembly Elections, 2022, during the election process in the Lok Sabha General Elections, 2024, free treatment facilities will be provided to the polling party and security personnel in all the government hospitals. The Health Secretary has issued instructions to take necessary action in this regard. In such a situation, all the medical units and medical colleges of Uttarakhand will remain open on the day of voting.
At the same time, Health Secretary Dr. R Rajesh Kumar said that the decision has been taken so that the employees engaged in election duty and the public can also get the benefit of health facilities during voting. Employees working in government hospitals will be given time to vote. In order for all the employees to vote, the Medical Superintendent/Controlling Officer of the medical unit will prepare a rotation for voting of the employees. So that all the employees can vote and those who need health facilities can also get the benefit of health facilities.
