Uttarakhand: “Rishikesh has been turned into Bangkok and Goa…”, people got angry at these antics of foreigners

Rishikesh is a religious place, people come here to seek blessings of Maa Ganga with their religious sentiments. People also come here for religious rituals. But for the last few years, Rishikesh has become famous not only in the country but all over the world as a tourist place. People now gather here for intoxication and adventure. Due to which the environment there is getting affected. Regarding this subject, a social media user has expressed concern over this situation by sharing some videos and pictures. What is happening in Rishikesh? In the video, it can be seen that some foreigners are seen bathing in the Ganges river in an obscene manner in less clothes. In the video, foreign women are wearing bikinis and boys are wearing shorts. All are seen having fun and bathing on the banks of the Ganges. Seeing the video, many people are expressing their displeasure. Sharing the video, the user has written- “Thank you Pushkar Singh Dhami for turning the holy Ganges into Goa Beach. Such things are now happening in Rishikesh and soon it will become a mini Bangkok.”

Another video has been posted along with this video. In this video, a group of foreigners can be seen dancing and frolicking in the style of rave parties. It is written with this video- Rishikesh is no longer a city of religion, spirituality and yoga. It has become Goa. Why are such rave parties/zombie culture being promoted in Rishikesh?
