The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has taken major action against Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Bajrang Punia. The National Anti-Doping Agency has temporarily suspended Bajrang Punia. Punia did not give dope sample during the national trials held in Sonipat in March, due to which NADA has taken this action. At the same time, Bajrang Punia has also put forth his side by sharing a video on social media.

NADA’s big action on Bajrang Punia

Let us tell you that on March 10, selection trials were held for the international tournament in Sonipat. Bajrang Punia lost in this trial. Punia lost 1-9 to Rohit Kumar in the men’s freestyle 65 kg semi-final. Earlier, he had barely managed to register a win against Ravinder. After losing in the semi-final, Punia immediately left the Sports Authority of India (SAI) center in anger. Officials of the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) tried to take Punia’s dope sample but he did not do so, due to which this action has been taken.

Bajrang shared a video

Bajrang Punia shared a video on social media and wrote that I want to clarify the news about me being asked to take a dope test. I never refused to give my sample to the NADA officials. I requested them to first answer me as to what steps they took or what action they took on the expired kit that was brought to take my sample and then take my dope test. My lawyer Vidush Singhania will reply to this letter in time.
