Uttar Pradesh: Fake BLO was doing duty at the polling station with his wife’s ID card, police registered FIR against three people
In Sambhal district of UP, on the day of voting (May 7), an FIR has been registered against three people who did duty by sitting in place of BLO wives at the polling booth. Police have registered a case against three husbands who were distributing voter slips in place of their respective wives.
In fact, on the day of voting on 7th May in Sambhal, at Acharya Muktesh Hakim Rais Inter College and Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Bal Vidya Mandir polling centres, instead of three female BLOs, their husbands were on duty and distributing voter slips to the people at the polling centre. At Sambhal’s Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati polling station, instead of woman BLO Reshma, her husband Ziaul Haq was on duty with his wife’s ID card around his neck. Her husband Anoop Kumar was found doing duty in place of the second woman BLO, Usha Rani. At the same time, near the polling booth of Acharya Muktesh Hakim Rais Inter College, instead of female BLO Wajida Tabassum, her husband Hifzur Rahman was doing duty with his wife’s ID card around his neck.
When the police got information about the woman BLO’s husband doing duty in place of her, the officers reached the spot and interrogated him. On which the statement of three people doing duty in place of their wives turned out to be true. After which, seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police officers took the voter slips from their husbands who were on duty in place of the BLOs and threw them out of the polling station.
After which, on the basis of the complaint of Ekta Chowki in-charge Jitendra Kumar, Sambhal Sadar Kotwali police registered an FIR against three people who were doing duty in place of female BLOs at the polling stations.
In this matter, CO Anuj Chaudhary said that during the voting process in Sambhal on May 7, when the people distributing voter slips were checked after the polling stations, the duty was being done by wearing the ID cards of women around their necks. When he was interrogated, it was revealed that the card belonged to his wife. Which included BLO Reshma’s husband Zia Ul Haq, Usha Rani’s husband Anoop Kumar and Wajida Tabassum’s husband Hifzur Rahman.
During the clarification, all three people talked about their wives being ill. But this act was completely illegal, so all three people were taken to the police station and a case was registered against them. The matter has become a topic of discussion in the area.
