Kejriwal’s target on PM Modi – said, he is asking for votes for Amit Shah, will retire on September 17
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a press conference at the Aam Aadmi Party office. He said, ‘Didn’t think I would come out’. Kejriwal continued targeting BJP and PM Modi. He said that Modi ji is not asking for votes for himself but for Amit Shah. He will retire on September 17. On Friday, he got interim bail from the Supreme Court. This is his first press conference after leaving Tihar. Let us tell you that on Friday he got interim bail from the Supreme Court, after which after coming out of jail, he reached the CM residence and also addressed the workers.
During this, CM Kejriwal had said, ‘The country has to be saved from dictatorship. He also said that our country is more than 4,000 years old, but whenever someone tried to impose dictatorship on this country, people did not tolerate it. Today the country is passing through a period of dictatorship. I am fighting against it, but 140 crore people will have to come together and defeat this dictatorship.
Earlier, during the hearing in the case on May 7, the Supreme Court had told Arvind Kejriwal that if you are granted interim bail, you will not do your official work. Had there been no elections, the question of interim bail would not have arisen. The Supreme Court had told the ED that Arvind Kejriwal is currently the Chief Minister and elections come once in five years.
Apart from this, recently in the case, ED had filed a new affidavit in opposition to the bail plea of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying that election campaigning is not a fundamental right. A candidate contesting elections is never given bail. Yes, there is a right to vote while in judicial custody, which this Court considers a statutory/constitutional right. There are many such examples in which politicians contested elections while in judicial custody. Some of whom even won, but they were never granted bail on this basis.
