There is excitement in the film world about the new film policy 2024 of Uttarakhand. Famous Bollywood film producers and directors are coming to Uttarakhand to shoot their films. In this series, on Wednesday, famous filmmaker Vipul Amritlal Shah and his co-producer Ashin Shah met Dr. Nitin Upadhyay, Joint Chief Executive Officer of Uttarakhand Film Development Council, at the Directorate of Information regarding their upcoming film.
It is noteworthy that Vipul Amritlal Shah is a film producer and director, whose main films include Aankhe, Singh is the King, Namaste London, Namaste England, The Kerala Story etc. Recently Vipul Shah’s Bastar film has been released on Zee 5.
Shah said that the new film policy 2024 has been implemented by the Uttarakhand government, which is film friendly. There is an atmosphere of excitement in Bollywood due to the new film policy. Shah told that he is also willing to shoot his new film in Uttarakhand. His team will stay in Uttarakhand for the next 5 days and do recce of the shooting location. Shah has also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ji for the new film policy. Shah told that Shefali Shah and Jaideep Ahlawat are being talked about as the lead actors in his new film. This film is a comedy suspense film and its entire filming will be done in Dehradun and Mussoorie, Uttarakhand. A formal announcement regarding the film will be made in a few days.
All important information related to the new film policy 2024 was provided by Dr. Nitin Upadhyay, Joint Chief Executive Officer of Uttarakhand Film Development Council. Dr. Upadhyay said that a new film friendly film policy has been made on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. With this film policy, film producers and directors from the country and the world are getting attracted towards Uttarakhand.
Dr. Upadhyay said that the state government is fully committed to making Uttarakhand a shooting destination for film makers. Recently, the shooting of Anupam Kher’s banner “Anupam Kher Studio” film “Tanvi The Great” has also been completed in Lansdowne. Whose shooting was done here for 36 days. The shooting of another famous producer director Raj Shandilya directed film “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video” has also been completed in the month of March in which Rajkumar Rao and Trupti Dimri are in the lead roles, it is a comedy film. Before this, the shooting of “Do Patti” starring Kajol and Kriti Sanon also ended in the month of December, the teaser of which has also been released on Netflix.
Dr. Upadhyay said that from January 2024 till now, more than 100 shooting permissions have been granted in just 4 months through the online single window system of Uttarakhand Film Development Council, which is quite encouraging. Letters are also being written to all the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police regarding film permissions. There is a provision in the film policy that the departments under the Government of Uttarakhand, except the protected forest areas, will not charge any fee for film shooting. A provision has also been made in the film policy to promote the untouched shooting destination of Uttarakhand.
In the Uttarakhand Film Policy 2024, subsidy up to 50% of the expenditure on film production in the state for regional language films or up to a maximum of Rs 2 crore, and the expenditure on film production in the state for Hindi and languages falling in the 8th schedule of the Indian Constitution. Provision has been made for a grant of 30% or a maximum of Rs 3 crore. Along with this, short film, documentary and web series have also been included in this new policy for subsidy.
