Mexico: Mass shooting in Chicomucelo city of Mexico, 11 people killed

A mass shooting took place in the city of Chicomucelo in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas. 11 people were killed in this attack on Tuesday.

In fact, the township and outlying settlements of Morelia are a sparsely populated area near Mexico’s border with Guatemala. On Monday also, there was a clash between drug cartels in this area.

Violence displaces many

Violence is escalating in the border region of Chiapas as the rival Sinaloa and Jalisco New Generation cartels battle for territory. This has displaced thousands of people as the cartels work to control migrant, drug and weapons smuggling routes and forcibly recruit locals.
