PM Modi did a grand roadshow in Mumbai, was welcomed with a shower of flowers and drums
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a massive road show in Mumbai on Wednesday evening in support of BJP candidates contesting from Lok Sabha seats falling under the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. A large number of people eagerly lined the road side to greet the Prime Minister. The prime minister’s road show took place ahead of polling on May 20 in 13 seats in Maharashtra, including six Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai. Elections in Maharashtra will be over with the fifth phase. The BJP’s star campaigner began his road show from Ashok Silk Mill in Ghatkopar (West) in north-east Mumbai amid tight police security at around 7 pm and passed through various parts of the city, culminating at Parsvnath Chowk in Ghatkopar (East) after over an hour.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister addressed two public meetings in the state in support of Lok Sabha candidates of the ruling ‘Mahayuti’ in Maharashtra – Kalyan in Thane district and Dindori in Nashik district. During the road show, thousands of people stood on both sides of the road barricades in suburban Ghatkopar to welcome Modi, holding BJP’s election symbol and raising slogans in his support. Many stood on the balconies of buildings and waved to him while youngsters enthusiastically clicked pictures with their mobile phones. Modi was greeted by people dressed in fishermen’s attire and traditional attire of the Warkari sect. large number of Gujaratis live in Ghatkopar, which is considered a BJP stronghold.
