The crowd of devotees is not being managed in Chardham, the record of devotees was broken this year
If you are going to do Chardham Yatra then this news is of your use. This time a huge crowd of devotees has gathered in Uttarakhand Chardham Yatra 2024. In the first 5 days of Chardham Yatra which started on 10th May, a record number of devotees have reached Yamunotri, Gangotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath Dhams. Due to this, there is a huge shortage of resources in the hilly area.
According to a Hindustan Times report, in view of the huge crowd of devotees from many states of the country, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed Secretary Meenakshi Sundaram to camp in Uttarkashi and monitor the situation and make proper arrangements. The CM said that proper arrangements should be made for travel management.
Devotees arrived in large numbers
In the first 5 days of the Chardham Yatra, a record number of 59,158 devotees reached Yamunotri Dham, while 48,378 devotees visited Gangotri Dham. It is worth noting that the doors of both the Dhams were opened on May 10 and since then 1,07,536 have visited so far. If we talk about last year, in the year 2023, 31647 pilgrims had reached Yamunotri Dham in the first 5 days, while 32143 devotees had reached Gangotri Dham, a total of 63790 people had visited both the Dhams in the first 5 days.
DM gave orders
Uttarkashi District Magistrate Meherban Singh Bisht has directed the officers posted on the route to stay in their designated sectors and ensure smooth movement of vehicles. DM Bisht has also asked all the officers to keep their mobile phones on and respond immediately to every call for any kind of help.
Police installed 8 drones and 850 CCTVs
Uttarakhand Police has installed more than 8 drones and about 850 CCTV cameras to manage traffic on the Chardham route. At the same time, about 130 parking spaces have been created in 7 districts of Garhwal region. According to the police department, more than 55,000 vehicles can be parked in these parking areas, including about 17,000 cars and 38,000 bikes.
More than 2.7 lakh people have visited
The number of devotees visiting the Char Dham is continuously increasing. Since May 10, more than 2.7 lakh people have visited the Char Dham. The highest number of people, 1,26,306, visited Kedarnath Dham, followed by 48378 people in Gangotri Dham. Whereas, 39304 people visited Badrinath Dham and 59158 people visited Yamunotri Dham. According to the Uttarakhand government, so far more than 23,824 vehicles have come to the state for the Char Dham Yatra.
Crowds gathered in Badrinath
A large number of people are visiting Badrinath Dham and taking darshan of the Lord. On Wednesday, a huge crowd of pilgrims gathered in Badrinath. From the morning itself, a 2 to 3 km long queue was seen on the Darshan Path for the darshan of the Lord. In the first 5 days, till Tuesday evening, 50,267 people have reached Badrinath Dham and taken darshan.
