Uttarakhand: Lakhs of cash found at home, engineer arrested red handed while taking bribe

Vigilance has arrested the Executive Engineer of Minor Irrigation Block, Nainital red handed while taking bribe late on Wednesday night. After the arrest, when the house of the Executive Engineer was searched, lakhs of rupees in cash were also recovered from the house. Today the accused will be presented in the court.

Late on Wednesday night, Vigilance arrested Krishna Singh Kanyal, Executive Engineer of Minor Irrigation Block, Nainital, while taking bribe. According to the information received, the team has arrested the accused from Season Resort, Naya Village Kaladhungi while taking a bribe of Rs 50 thousand. This action has been taken on the complaint received by Vigilance.

Lakhs of rupees found after searching the house
According to the information received, after the arrest of Executive Engineer Krishna Singh Kanyal, Vigilance searched his residence in Haldwani and Dehradun. In which the team has recovered Rs 23.97 lakh. Rs 16.73 lakh have been recovered from the accused’s residence in Dehradun and Rs 3.38 lakh have been recovered from his residence in Haldwani.

Three lakh rupees were also found from the office
Let us tell you that lakhs of rupees have also been recovered from the minor irrigation office where the accused used to sit in Unchapul, Haldwani. Rs 3.86 lakh have been recovered from the office of the accused. Along with this, the Vigilance team has also captured many important documents. The accused will be presented in the court by this evening.
