Nainital High Court shifting case to be heard in Supreme Court today, everyone’s eyes on the decision from hills to plains

Today, the special permission petition of the association regarding shifting of the High Court from Nainital to somewhere else is to be heard in the Supreme Court.

There has been a lot of discussion in the state for the past few days regarding the shifting of Nainital High Court. There is talk of shifting the High Court to IDPL Rishikesh. But opposition is being seen in Kumaon. Meanwhile, this case is being heard in the Supreme Court today.

After receiving the official information about the case being listed, High Court Bar Association President Dinesh Singh Rawat, General Secretary Saurabh Adhikari along with advocate Kartikeya Harigupta and others have reached Delhi. Let us tell you that the hearing of the case will be held in the division bench of Justice PS Narasimha and Justice Sanjay Karol.

Orders were passed to shift the High Court elsewhere
Let us tell you that on May 8, the division bench of Chief Justice Ritu Bahri and Justice Rakesh Thapliyal passed an order to shift the High Court from Nainital to somewhere else. Along with this, the division bench had also instructed the Registrar General of the High Court to create a portal to take opinions from advocates and litigants in the shifting case.

The court had said that if people support the shifting then they can say “yes” and if they oppose then they can say “no”. Let us tell you that the High Court has cited protection of forests as the main reason for shifting. Earlier a place for shifting was proposed in Gaulapar, Haldwani.
