Uttarakhand: Mangalore and Badrinath by-election dates announced, voting on July 10, results on July 13

After the completion of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Election Commission of India has now issued a notification regarding the by-elections on two vacant assembly seats in Uttarakhand. According to the notification issued, voting will be held on both the assembly seats on July 10. Along with this, the notification of the election will be issued on June 14. Actually, two assembly seats of Uttarakhand, Mangalore and Badrinath assembly seats, are vacant, on which by-elections are to be held.
It is worth noting that BSP MLA Sarwat Karim Ansari from Mangalore assembly seat died on 30 October 2023 during treatment in a hospital in Noida. Since then this assembly seat is vacant. Apart from this, before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Congress MLA Rajendra Bhandari from Badrinath assembly seat resigned from the post of Member of Legislative Assembly on 17 March 2024 and left the Congress and joined the BJP. Since then the Badrinath assembly seat is also vacant.
In such a situation, the Election Commission of India has issued a notification on June 10 regarding the by-elections to be held on two vacant assembly seats in the state. According to the notification issued, the notification related to the election will be issued on June 14. Along with this, the nomination process will also start from June 14. The last date for nomination has been kept as June 21. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on June 24. The last date for withdrawal of nomination has been kept as June 26. Voting will be held on both the assembly seats on July 10 and the election results will be declared along with the counting of votes on July 13.
BJP claims to win the by-election
Uttarakhand BJP is very excited about the by-election. BJP State Vice President Jyoti Prasad Gairola says that the Bharatiya Janata Party is always ready for every challenge. Now that the dates of the by-election have been announced, the party will also face the by-election in a better way. Soon the party will start the process of selecting its candidates and the name will be sent to the Central Parliamentary Board. After which the BJP candidate will be announced. He said that after winning the Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party will also win the by-election.
