Uttarakhand / Pithoragarh: Minor murdered, accused jumped into the river to escape to Nepal, police engaged in investigation
A case of murder of a 17-year-old boy has come to light in Pithoragarh. The accused is also said to be a minor. According to the information, the accused stabbed the 17-year-old boy in the neck and jumped into the Kali river in an attempt to escape to Nepal. No clue of the accused has been found so far.
Murder of a minor in Pithoragarh
The incident is said to have taken place on Saturday morning. The deceased has been identified as Anuj Sistol (17), son of Kundan Sistol, a resident of Dharchula. According to the information, Anuj used to work in Dehradun. The boy had come to Dharchula three days ago. It is being told that the boy had gone to his aunt’s house. At around 10:45, the accused reached Anuj’s aunt’s house and stabbed Anuj in the neck with a vegetable cutting knife.
The accused jumped into the river in an attempt to escape to Nepal
It is being told that during the incident, Anuj’s aunt had gone to the shop. Hearing Anuj’s screams, people from the vicinity reached the spot and took the boy to the hospital. Where doctors declared Anuj dead after treatment. On receiving the information, the police team immediately reached the spot. Eyewitnesses say that the accused jumped into the Kali river in an attempt to escape to Nepal. At present, the police is running a rescue operation in search of the accused.
Search for the accused continues
Deceased Anuj’s father Kundan has given a complaint to the police in Sistol regarding the matter. Police is also investigating why the accused killed Anuj. Police is running a rescue operation in search of the accused. But the police has not found any clue yet. To ensure that the accused does not reach Nepal by dodging the police, Dharchula police has also informed the Nepal police about the matter.
