Mother and son died under suspicious circumstances in Ramnagar. Poisonous substance was found near the bodies of both. Due to which it is suspected that both of them committed suicide by consuming poison. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the bodies of both and sent them for post-mortem.

The deceased have been identified as Nanda Devi (65) wife of late Jagat Singh and Surendra Singh (42) resident of Naya Jhirna Plot No. 12. According to the information received, both mother and son were missing since Tuesday morning. At around five in the evening, a girl living in the neighborhood went to the forest to pluck mangoes. The girl saw the bodies of both lying in the forest and immediately informed the people around.
The deceased was mentally ill
On receiving the information, a crowd of villagers and the relatives of the deceased reached the spot. The police reached the spot and took the bodies of both. Let us tell you that the younger son of the deceased, Devendra, is a soldier in the PAC. Who is posted in Rudrapur. It is being told that Devendra had come home on leave five days ago. It is being told that Devendra’s brother was mentally ill and was unmarried.
There was a quarrel with daughter-in-law
Giving information about the case, Kotwal Arun Kumar said that PAC jawan Devendra’s wife lived with her mother-in-law and brother-in-law. Investigation revealed that Devendra’s wife had a quarrel with her mother-in-law over some issue. Due to which Nanda Devi had not eaten food since Monday. Poison pills have also been found from the bottom of the tree from which the bodies were found. Prima facie, it is suspected that the mother and son committed suicide due to family discord.
