Zimbabwe announced 17-member team for T20 series against India, Sikandar Raza will take over the captaincy
After winning the T20 World Cup 2024 title, now the Indian team has to play its next series in this format on the tour of Zimbabwe from July 6. Regarding this, while the BCCI had already announced Team India, in which Shubman Gill will be seen captaining the team, now Zimbabwe Cricket has also announced a 17-member team, whose captaincy will be handled by Sikandar Raza, but many senior players have been dropped from the team.
Ryan Burl and Craig Ervine did not get a place
Tendai Chatara, Brandon Mavuta and Wesley Madhevere have returned to the 17-member team announced by Zimbabwe Cricket for the T20 series against India. Ryan Burl, Joelord Gumbai and Anisley Endlu have not been included in the team, apart from this Craig Ervine and Sean Williams were not even considered for selection. Many young players have also been given a place in this Zimbabwean team, one of which is Anthum Naqvi who is of Pakistani origin. In domestic cricket, Naqvi’s batting average in List-A format has been 73.42 and he played an unbeaten innings of 300 runs in the first class format in January last year.
