Godhra court of Gujarat sentenced Pakistani woman to 2 years imprisonment
A Pakistani woman living illegally in Godhra, Gujarat has been sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Godhra court. The woman, Hazrabanu Siddique Surati, was living in Gulshan Society in Godhra on a visitor visa since December 17, 2005. The police arrested her and a case has been registered against her.
Let us tell you, Hazrabanu had got a visitor visa from October 7, 2005 to January 30, 2006, on the basis of this visitor visa she came to India on December 17, 2005 and started living in Godhra city. At the same time, even after the visa expired, she did not consider it appropriate to go back to her country. She continued to live illegally beyond the permitted period.
Hazrabanu Siddique was arrested in this case and a case was registered against her under the Foreigners Act by PSI D.J. Chavda. After the case went to the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate of Godhra, DB Rajan, the court convicted the accused Pakistani woman Hazrabanu and sentenced her to two years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5000.
During the hearing in the court, Chief Justice DB Rajan convicted her for illegally residing in another country. The court said that she cannot continue to stay illegally in a foreign country for more than the permitted period.
