Uttarakhand: CM Dhami flagged off the mountaineering expedition of 11 unnamed and unclimbed mountain peaks in the Manapas area

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday flagged off the mountaineering expedition of 11 unnamed and unclimbed mountain peaks in the Mana Pass area located in Chamoli district on behalf of the Nehru Mountaineering Institute from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. This expedition will be organized till 15 August 2024. Its objective is to establish new dimensions in the field of mountaineering and also to pay tribute to those brave mountaineers of Uttarakhand state of Advanced Mountaineering Course who lost their lives in the natural disaster that occurred last year on Draupadi Ka Danda mountain peak.

It was informed about the expedition that 11 unnamed and unclimbed mountain peaks located in the Mana region of Uttarakhand will be climbed, in which 05 mountain peaks are more than 6000 m high and the remaining 06 mountain peaks are more than 5500 m high. These 11 unnamed peaks climbed by the institute will be named after the mountaineers who lost their lives bravely on the Draupadi Ka Danda mountain peak.

The expedition will be led by the institute’s principal Colonel Anshuman Bhadoria and the institute’s deputy principal and medical officer Captain Santosh Kumar will act as deputy leader. The expedition team includes the institute’s trainers and mountaineers Rakesh Rana, senior trainer, trainers Deep Sahi, Vinod Gusai, Saurabh Singh, Anup Panwar, assistant trainer Ravindra Rawat, Subedar Major Hazari Lal, Naib Subedar Bhupendra Singh, Naib Subedar Bahadur Pahan, Naib Subedar Ravindra Singh, Havildar Thajali Poon, Naik Manoj Kumar, assistant trainer Ajit Rawat, Navprabhat, Himanshu Joshi, assistant trainer, Pankaj Panwar, Munendra Rana, assistant trainer and Surya Rawat.
