Uttarakhand: Rain caused havoc, Badrinath highway closed, administration appealed to travellers to be cautious

Monsoon rains have wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand. Badrinath highway has been closed at many places due to falling debris and huge boulders after rain. Due to which hundreds of passengers are stranded on the way. The administration has stopped the passengers at safe places.

Let us tell you that due to torrential rains in Chamoli, the road has been blocked near Baldauda bridge ahead of Vishnu Prayag. At the same time, boulders have fallen on the highway at Totaghati and Safed Pahad. The NH is continuously removing debris with JCB. The administration is instructing the drivers to drive carefully during traffic.
Alert issued for these districts
According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, a red alert for heavy rain has been issued in some areas of Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts today. While there is an orange alert for heavy rain in some places in Dehradun, Haridwar, Tehri and Uttarkashi districts.
Instructions given not to travel in the mountains
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in various districts of the state for two days on July 7 and 8. In such a situation, the administration has appealed to the people traveling on the mountains to avoid traffic in view of the possibility of landslides.
