By-elections will be held for two seats in Uttarakhand tomorrow, Election Commission has completed preparations

By-elections are to be held tomorrow i.e. on July 10 for the Badrinath assembly seat and Mangalore seat of Uttarakhand. In this sequence, a media briefing was held on Tuesday regarding the by-election in line with the instructions of Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam. During this, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Ms. Mukta Mishra said that all polling parties have been dispatched on Wednesday to conduct safe polling in the assembly constituencies of Badrinath and Mangalore.
4200 personnel deployed on duty
The Deputy Chief Electoral Officer said that about 4200 personnel have been deployed on duty to conduct the by-elections of both the assemblies. Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Mastu Das said that at the places in Badrinath area where the roads are blocked due to landslides, polling parties have been transported to the polling stations by foot by deploying adequate manpower. Apart from this, reserve vehicles have also been arranged for the polling personnel.
Lakhs of cash recovered
Assistant Chief Electoral Officer informed that during Badrinath and Mangalore assembly by-elections, 624 complaints were received through C-Vigil, out of which 623 complaints were resolved while one complaint was rejected by the RO. He informed that during the by-elections, liquor and narcotics worth Rs 32 lakh including 15 lakh 95 thousand cash have been seized.
3838 voters from 17 villages will vote
Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Mastu Das informed during the media briefing that for the first time 9 high altitude polling stations have been set up in the border areas of Badrinath assembly constituency, in which 3838 voters from 17 villages will vote.
