Efforts to form a government in France have intensified, leaders of the leftist coalition that won the most seats have started talks

After no one got a majority in the French parliamentary elections, the exercise to form a government has intensified. The newly elected MPs reached the lower house National Assembly on Tuesday and discussed this seriously.

New Popular Front has got the most seats

The leaders of the leftist alliance New Popular Front, which won the most seats, say that they should form a new government. The three main parties in the alliance – hard-left France Unbowed, Socialist and Green Party – started talks to find a candidate for the Prime Minister. President Emmanuel Macron has asked Prime Minister Gabriel Attal to continue handling day-to-day tasks.
