Uttarakhand / Bageshwar: A woman was raped on the pretext of marriage, the victim said that she was insulted by using casteist slurs
A case of raping a girl on the pretext of marriage has come to light in Bageshwar. On the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case against the accused youth and arrested him.
Rape of a girl on the pretext of marriage
The girl told the Kotwali police in her complaint that Umesh Tiwari (24), a resident of Bhidi, took her to different places on the pretext of marriage and raped her. The victim said in the complaint that when she talked to Umesh about marriage, he refused and started using casteist words.
The accused was arrested
On the basis of the complaint of the victim, the police registered a case against the accused Umesh under the relevant sections and arrested the accused from near the taxi stand. According to the information given by the police, the accused was produced in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate and sent to jail.
