Uttarakhand: Five army friends had come on leave, one soldier drowned while bathing, no clue found till now

A soldier drowned in the ravine near the bridge of Bameta village. Five soldier friends had come home on leave. On Tuesday, all five went to the ravine to take a bath. Meanwhile, one of them started drowning. The four tried to save their friend but he could not be found.

A soldier drowned while bathing in the ravine of Bameta village, situated below the road on the Padampuri road of Dhari development block of Nainijal district on Tuesday. According to the information received, Vinod Singh son Devendra Singh resident Dewalchaud Haldwani, Himanshu Dafaotiya son Pushkar Dafaotiya resident Bageshwar, presently resident Kusumkheda Haldwani, Pradeep Negi son Nandan Singh resident Someshwar Almora, Akash Bisht son Lal Singh resident Sherpur Dehradun, Chandan Singh resident Manpur West Haldwani had entered the ravine to take a bath. During this, Himanshu Dafaotiya started drowning in the water. Friends tried to save him but they failed.

Even after a long search operation, nothing could be found

On Tuesday evening, Vinod Singh, son of Devendra Singh, informed the district administration about his friend drowning. After which the Dhari, Dhanachuli Police, Revenue Police, SDRF and Fire team reached the spot. A search operation was launched to find Himanshu. But even after a lot of searching, nothing could be found.
