Uttarakhand: Instructions of Additional Chief Executive Officer of USDMA, officers should regularly monitor landslide prone areas

Anand Swaroop, Additional Chief Executive Officer (Administration) of Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA) reached the State Emergency Center on Friday and took stock of the situation across the state regarding monsoon. Along with this, he also gave necessary guidelines regarding the preparations for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra.

On Friday, Swaroop took information about the national highways, state highways and rural roads closed due to monsoon from the control room located at USDMA and took stock of the landslide areas through GIS. He said that a permanent solution will be found to the frequent landslides in Jogidhara on Rishikesh-Badrinath NH and soon the team of USDMA and ULMMMC will inspect the affected area. He said that the concerned departments should regularly monitor the landslide areas where treatment work has already been done so that if the fencing is broken or there is any other damage, it can be repaired in time.

During this, he also discussed with the experts of USDMA about the preparations being made at their level from the concerned districts regarding the upcoming Kanwar Yatra. He directed to get a detailed report on the capacity of medical camps, availability of resources to deal with water logging, arrangements for security at various bathing ghats and arrangements for toilets.

At the same time, Additional Chief Executive Officer (Implementation) Rajkumar Negi said that the SOP and plan of the police and Haridwar district administration regarding the Kanwar Yatra have been studied. USDMA is coordinating with the officials of the concerned districts for the successful conduct of the Yatra.

On this occasion, SEOC’s day in-charge and IEC expert Manish Bhagat, expert Rohit Kumar, Dr. Pooja Rana, Dr. Vedika Pant, Hemant Bisht, Jessica Teron, Tandrila Sarkar etc. were present.

USDMA will monitor the Kanwar Yatra with drones

Dehradun. Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority will monitor the Kanwar Yatra with its Nabhantra drone. Additional Chief Executive Officer (Administration) Anand Swaroop said that drone drivers have been received by USDMA. He said that during the Kanwar Yatra, the Kanwar Yatra route and major places will be continuously monitored through this. Also, through this, the situation of landslides, floods etc. in disaster affected areas will also be monitored. Let us tell you that Nabhnetra is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Nabh Netra drone is fully automatic and is capable of flying even at night and can shoot photos and videos even at night through thermal camera. Its live streaming can also be done in the control room of USDMA.
