Weather conditions continue to wreak havoc in Uttarakhand today, Orange alert for heavy rain in 7 districts and Yellow alert in 6 districts

The people of Uttarakhand are not getting relief from rain. However, the distribution of rain is uneven. At some places it is raining heavily, while at other places it is not raining at all. Where it is raining, life is getting disrupted. The rain in the mountains is causing floods and waterlogging in the plains.

Orange alert for heavy rain in 7 districts

Today, Friday, rain is going to increase trouble again. The Meteorological Department estimates that there will be heavy rain in 7 districts of Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for these districts. The districts for which orange alert has been issued include Tehri, Pauri, Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar and Champawat districts.

Yellow alert in 6 districts

Along with this, a yellow alert for rain has been issued in the remaining 6 districts of the state. These districts include Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Almora, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh. According to the Meteorological Department, it will continue to rain in the state throughout this week. Today, rain is expected at most places in 8 districts of Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain at many places in 5 districts.

The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of light to moderate landslides as well as rock falls at sensitive places. This may close the roads. People traveling in landslide zones have been asked to be extra cautious. Mountaineering expeditions have been advised to be postponed in rainy conditions or to be undertaken with caution.
