Joe Biden’s troubles increased in US election, donors stopped funding of 90 million dollars, party in tension

Joe Biden’s troubles in the US presidential election seem to be increasing. A New York Times report said that Future Forward, the largest Biden-supporting political action committee, was informed that if Biden contests the election, the party would be stopped from receiving about $90 million in funding. The report said that Biden’s performance in the debate with Donald Trump in late June was very poor. After this, the campaign contribution to Future Forward from Democratic donors has been stopped.

After Biden’s poor performance, disappointment is being seen in the Democratic Party. Biden has also admitted that his debate was very bad. Since then, he has been giving interviews and public rallies. But the anger against him within the party does not seem to be decreasing. Many members of Biden’s party have now publicly asked him to give up his candidacy. Former President Barack Obama and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi discussed Biden’s candidacy.

Biden left the decision to the party

US President Joe Biden has said that his electors can decide to retain or remove him as a candidate in the presidential election based on their discretion because they can do so according to the party rules. However, given the past few examples and the candidate selection process, it is likely that most electors will support his candidacy. Biden said in a press conference on the sidelines of the NATO conference that the electors are ‘free to do whatever they want’, including nominating someone else at the Democratic Party’s national convention.

Questions being raised on Biden’s candidature

Shortly after, he whispered into the microphone, ‘This is not going to happen.’ Keeping in mind Biden’s age and health, questions are being raised about making him the Democratic Party’s candidate in the upcoming presidential election. In this election, he will face Republican Party candidate former President Donald Trump. During the debate with Trump, he kept freezing several times. At the same time, he could not answer many questions properly.
