273 patients of hemophilia are registered in Uttarakhand, facilities will be reviewed every month

The government is constantly making efforts to provide better health facilities in Uttarakhand. Despite this, the condition of health facilities is still worse, especially in the mountainous areas. This is the reason why Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself is reviewing the health department and constantly insisting on providing better health facilities to the remote areas of the state. In this episode, CM Dhami held a meeting with the Health Secretary regarding the condition of hemophilia patients present in the state and the health facilities available to them.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar to ensure that there is no shortage of hemophilia factor and medicines for all the hemophilia patients present in Uttarakhand. Also asked to pay attention to the fact that all these patients get the benefit of government facilities.

273 hemophilia patients registered in Uttarakhand

At the same time, Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar said that 273 hemophilia patients are registered in Uttarakhand. For their treatment, the necessary hemophilia factor (seven, eight and nine) is being provided free of cost by the state government.

Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar said that earlier patients suffering from hemophilia had to go to Government Doon Medical College Dehradun, SSJ Base Haldwani and Joint Hospital Kotdwar for factor, but for the last 5 years, hemophilia factor is being made available to all the patients suffering from hemophilia in the state at the medical unit near them for treatment.

He said that currently factor 7 is available in sufficient quantity in the state. Factor 8 and Factor 9 will also be made available to all these hospitals soon by the Directorate General of Health. The Health Secretary said that the Director General of Health has been instructed to personally review the facilities being provided to patients suffering from hemophilia every month.

Also, the Chief Medical Officers of all the districts should instruct the District Nodal Officers of their districts in this regard that they should take information about the facilities being provided to hemophilia patients every month. Also, provide information to the public about the free health facilities being provided by the government regarding this disease.

What is hemophilia disease?

Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar said that hemophilia is a hereditary blood disorder. In which the patient’s blood does not clot completely. Because, the blood of a hemophilia patient lacks the necessary protein (factor) for clotting and bleeding continues when injured. This disease usually affects men. Its symptoms are often not visible in women, but women are carriers of the disease. In some cases, this disease affects women.
