Uttarakhand: Police tightened its belt for Kanwar Yatra, shopkeepers will have to write the owner’s name on the Yatra route, order issued

Haridwar police is busy in preparations for Kanwar Yatra. In this sequence, Haridwar police, on the lines of Uttar Pradesh, in Uttarakhand too, the shops, hotels and dhabas on the Kanwar Yatra route will have to write the name of the shop owner along with the rate list. Haridwar police has also issued orders regarding this.

Shopkeepers will have to write the name of the owner on the Yatra route

Haridwar SSP Pramod Dobal said that ‘In view of the preparations for Kanwar, we have instructed the hotels, dhabas, restaurants and hawkers on the Kanwar route to write the name of the owner on their shops. If they do not do so, we will take legal action against them. The SSP said that many times a situation of dispute arises due to this, in view of which we have taken this decision.’

There was a controversy over serving onion and garlic food

Let us tell you that a few days ago, some Kanwariyas were served onion and garlic food in a dhaba in Haridwar. After which the Kanwariyas created a ruckus. Somehow the police calmed the matter down. Only after this, Haridwar Police has taken this decision. Along with this, instructions have been given to all the dhabas and hotels not to serve onion and garlic food and not to prepare non-vegetarian food during the Kanwar Yatra.
