Shankaracharya furious at Yogi government’s order, said before UP by-elections- you are…

Jyotish Peeth Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has strongly objected to the decision of the BJP government led by CM Yogi Adityanath in UP regarding the Kanwar Yatra. Before the by-elections, he said about this rule (on which the restaurant controversy arose) that it should not have been brought suddenly. Let’s know what he has said:

Jyotish Peeth Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati told news agency ANI, “You should not have brought such a rule suddenly.” While giving suggestions to the government, he further said that some education class should have been run first. Kanwariyas should have been given training.

According to Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, Kanwariyas should have been explained that according to the scriptures, purity is required but you are playing DJ. You are making them jump and do Kudwa (in the context of dancing and singing). In such a situation, how will the religious sentiments of Kanwariyas come. We feel that making such a rule will spread hatred.

Shankaracharya said, “Many Hindus will say what are we saying on our thinking, but we will say only the truth. How can we say that this (government rule) is right? When you intensify the Hindu-Muslim sentiment, then there will be differences among people. They will always see things from the Hindu-Muslim point of view and bitterness will develop in them and conflict will arise.”

Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati said, “Today people’s understanding has become such that they are eating anywhere. They do not even think who has prepared it and with what feeling. Earlier people used to think. Common Hindus do not think about this now. Since people have not been made aware about this, that is why this is happening. You need to create an environment for this.”

Giving suggestions, Shankaracharya further said, “There was so much trouble due to demonetization! In such a situation, it is not right to do anything suddenly. First the environment should have been created, explanation should have been given and then it should have been done. Could the government not have influenced the Hindus to organize langar? Don’t the people of the society come forward for the Kanwariyas on the government’s request?”

Questioning the government’s decision, Shankaracharya said, “Those who have suddenly implemented this rule, have politics in their mind somewhere. Those who are interpreting it in this way, they too are doing politics. Both are doing the work of dividing. The opposition should come forward to give a good interpretation. No one has to handle such a situation. Everyone’s mind has to be poisoned. This is the policy of divide and rule.”

In fact, UP had issued an order before Sawan, in which it was said that the eateries on the Kanwar Yatra route will have to display the names of the owners. Earlier this rule was for Muzaffarnagar Police, while later the state government extended it to the entire state.
