What kind of mockery of faith is this! Pork-beef fat, fish oil in Tirupati laddu!
Beef fat and fish oil were being used while preparing Prasad in Tirupati temple of Andhra Pradesh. This has been confirmed in the report of the investigation of the Prasad of Tirupati temple. Let us tell you that Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu had alleged a few days ago that during the previous government, animal fat was used instead of ghee while preparing the Prasad of Tirupati temple. Keeping these allegations in mind, the sample of Prasad from the temple was sent for investigation. Now the report of this investigation has come. In this report, the use of animal fat has come out.
Allegation of making laddus with inferior material
CM Chandrababu Naidu had said a few days ago during the meeting of the NDA Legislature Party that the quality of laddus made in Tirupati temple is also not good. The use of animal fat in preparing it has also come to light. We should get this investigated as well.
Former CM had retaliated
Responding to CM Naidu’s allegations, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party YSRCP has said that the statement given by Chandrababu Naidu regarding the Tirupati temple’s Prasad is very bad. Any person will definitely think before making such allegations. His statement has proved that Naidu will not shy away from doing anything in politics.
The first complaint was received on 23 July
The complaint of irregularities in the temple’s Prasad (laddu) was made on 25 July. Understanding the seriousness of the matter, the government had asked the temple administration to get the quality of the Prasad checked. Only after this the quality of the Prasad was checked. It was revealed in this investigation that animal fat is being used while preparing the Prasad. The MLAs of the NDA’s constituent parties said that there is a problem with the ghee with which the laddu is being prepared. Only after this it was investigated.
CALF has issued a warning
The analysis done by the Center for Livestock and Food Analysis and Studies (CALF) of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) also carries a warning. This warning states that there is a possibility of false positive results on some occasions. This report depends on many conditions. In such a situation, sometimes the results of the investigation also come out wrong. The report does not say anything about whether the adulteration was done intentionally or the adulteration happened due to eating conditions and other factors. Naidu’s allegations and the NDDB report have shocked millions of devotees around the world as the emotional significance of Tirupati laddus is very high.
Order given in June
The TDP government in June appointed senior IAS officer J Shyamala Rao as the new executive officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), which manages the temple complex. As part of streamlining measures, an investigation was ordered into the alleged poor quality, taste and texture of the laddus.
Ghee was procured from a blacklisted contractor
TTD sources said that cow ghee was procured from a blacklisted contractor at Rs 320 per kg, while Tirupati Trust is now procuring ghee from Karnataka Milk Federation at the rate of Rs 475 per kg. TTD prepares around 3 lakh laddus every day in Tirumala and distributes them to devotees. Every year, the Trust earns around Rs 500 crore from the sale of laddus alone.
