ENG vs WI: England announced the playing eleven for the third Test match, the team will enter with the intention of clean sweep

England announced their playing XI for the third and final Test match against West Indies, which will be played at Edgbaston from July 26. No changes have been made to the team. England have already won the series 2-0. They will now go with the intention of a clean sweep.

England won the second Test match played at Trent Bridge in Nottingham by 241 runs. Ollie Pope was named Player of the Match for his brilliant century (121) and half-century (51) in both innings of the match. Shoaib Bashir bowled brilliantly in the second innings and took 5 wickets.

English bowlers have bowled brilliantly

In the second Test, Harry Brook (109) and Joe Root (122) scored brilliant centuries and contributed significantly to giving England a huge lead of 384 runs. In bowling, Chris Woakes bowled the best in the first innings with figures of 4/84 in 28 overs.

West Indies aim to avoid whitewash

Shoaib Bashir’s five-wicket haul helped England win their eighth consecutive series in England since 2000. After suffering a massive defeat by an innings and 114 runs in the first Test at Lord’s, West Indies put up a better show in the second Test and scored 457 runs in reply to England’s first innings score of 416.

Alick Athanage (82), Kavem Hodge (120) and Joshua Da Silva (82) were the top scorers for the visitors. However, they failed to replicate their fine form in the second innings and West Indies were bundled out for 143. Hence, West Indies would be looking to bounce back in the third Test and avoid a whitewash by winning the last Test.

England’s playing XI for the third Test:-
