Uttarakhand: Government is making a policy for separate housing for the elderly, it will become the first state to make a senior citizen policy

A separate housing policy will be made for the elderly in Uttarakhand. The draft of the housing policy for senior citizens has been prepared at the government level, on which the opinion of various departments is being taken. After examining all the aspects, this policy will be brought to the cabinet.

This will directly benefit the poor, middle class and upper class senior citizens. The capital Dehradun has also been known as a city of retired people. A large number of retired officers and employees reside here. With the aim of simplifying the housing facility for senior citizens, the government is bringing the Senior Citizen Housing Policy.

After the introduction of this policy, whatever houses the builders will build, provisions for land use change, exemption in Floor Area Ratio (FAAR) etc. will also be made for them. The purpose is to build such houses which are only for the elderly. There should be facilities according to them.

All these facilities will be available

According to the needs of the elderly, all facilities like ramp, open area, nearest hospital, means of entertainment, yoga, religious places for worship will be available in these houses, so that they do not face any kind of loneliness or trouble.

Facilities for senior citizens of every class

In this housing policy, not only the dream of the elderly of the upper class, but also of the low income group will be fulfilled. All of them will be provided facilities according to their needs.

The central government will provide ground floor in two crore houses

The central government had announced to build two crore houses under the PM Awas Yojana in its interim budget this year. Out of these, provision was made to give these ground floor houses only to senior citizens or handicapped poor. This will also provide relief to poor senior citizens.
