Lok Sabha speaker formed JPC on Waqf bill, 31 MPs including Masood and Owaisi included
The speaker has formed a JPC on the Waqf Bill. The speaker has included 31 MPs in the JPC. This JPC will have 21 MPs from Lok Sabha and 10 MPs from Rajya Sabha. Owaisi and Imran Masood are also included in the JPC. Let us tell you that the Modi government had sent the Waqf Act Amendment Bill to the JPC yesterday. The speaker also formed a JPC on this today. It is called Joint Parliamentary Committee in Hindi, which means that it will have MPs from both the ruling and opposition parties.

Let us tell you that the speaker decides how many MPs will be in the JPC from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and what is their number. The JPC formed by the speaker regarding the Waqf Act currently includes 31 members. AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi and Congress MP Imran Masood are also included in this JPC. The JPC formed for the Waqf Bill will decide which changes in the Waqf Act are correct and which are wrong. Then this report will be sent to the government. But the government is not bound to accept the recommendations of the JPC.

There will be 10 members from Rajya Sabha
The Lok Sabha on Friday approved a proposal to nominate 21 members of the House and 10 members from Rajya Sabha for the formation of a joint committee of Parliament to consider the Waqf Amendment Bill. The 21 members from the Lok Sabha who have been included in this joint committee include eight MPs from the Bharatiya Janata Party and three from the Congress. Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju moved this proposal in the House which was approved by voice vote. The Lok Sabha has recommended to the Rajya Sabha that it should select 10 members for this joint committee and inform the Lower House.
