Maharashtra / Mumbai: Neighbor raped 17 year old girl for 5 years, victim is 3 months pregnant
Navi Mumbai Police on Saturday arrested a man for allegedly raping and impregnating a 17-year-old neighbour repeatedly, an official said.
An APMC police station official said that based on the complaint, a case was registered on Friday under relevant provisions of the Indian Justice Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Was raping since 2020
The officer said that the accused and the girl lived in a building located in Kopri village in Vashi. The accused allegedly raped the girl on several occasions at his house since 2020. The officer said that the girl was found to be three months pregnant and has been admitted to a civil hospital.
It is worth noting that in May this year, the police arrested a 40-year-old man. He was accused of allegedly raping and impregnating his 17-year-old daughter. Police said that the accused hawker is a history-sheeter and has been arrested in rape and theft cases earlier as well. He was sent to jail till November 2023 and after getting bail, he has been raping his daughter.
