Uttarakhand: Before passing the map of a big project, the impact on traffic will be seen, a new system will be implemented
Now before building any big residential or commercial project in the cities, its impact on traffic will be seen. The housing department is preparing to implement the new system. The map of that project will be passed by the authorities only on the basis of the traffic impact assessment report. If the report is not correct, the map will not be passed.
Big malls and residential projects are being built rapidly in the cities. Due to these projects, traffic problems arise at many places. In the past, projects have been built on those roads also, where there is already heavy traffic pressure. There is also a problem due to the presence of schools nearby. In such a situation, the common people have to face huge problems due to that project.
So, the housing department has found a solution to this. Before submitting the map of any residential or commercial project, now the builder will have to first get the traffic assessment done. The builder will tell in his report that what is the traffic pressure at the place where the project is proposed. What is the width of the road there and how is the movement of vehicles per day or per hour in comparison to that.
Discussion on implementing the changes
There is no school, hospital or other public place nearby, which may affect the traffic. Its report will be submitted to the concerned authority. The decision to pass the map will be taken on the basis of this report. Discussion is going on to implement these changes at the government level. Housing department officials said that it will be brought to the cabinet soon.
Rules only for big projects
This rule of the Housing Department will be only for big projects. For small projects, the map will be passed only as per the previous rules. Traffic is becoming a big problem amid increasing urbanization in many cities including the capital Doon.
